It so happened that a Baba lover from Katol, Nagpur district visited Avatar Meher Baba Bombay Centre along with his 14 year old son who was suffering from blood cancer. This was announced in the Centre and naturally every one prayed in unison for the boy and his family to bear the sufferings and also askrd to bless the boy. Shri Krishna Laud of Tandulvani (Nagpur Dist.) now settled in Mumbai, used to visit the ailing boy every week in Borges Home at Bandra, Mumbai, India. This home accomodates nearly 150 cancer patients undergoing treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital.To alleviate the sufferings of the patients people from different fields of life come to entertain them. Shri Krishna had been making his weekly visits to Borges Home and felt acutely about the plieght of the children suffering from cancer. He had a vision that some Baba programme is going on, invoking the blessings of God for these souls. He felt a programme should be held for these children.He expressed his heart felt wish at the Centre one day. Can these children be entertained?

The Centre accepted to entertain these children with the devotional songs and messages of Beloved Meher Baba. Shri Barve, the Chief Organiser of Borges Home gave his willing consent to Mr. Kishore Mistry who would lead the group to entertain the children.

In all accordance a special programme was arranged on 24th November 2001 by the Avatar Meher Baba Bombay Centre at 4.30 p.m. at Borges Home. The programme started with a song 'Hari Paramatma Allah Ahurmazda God Yazdan hu', About 100 patients and their relatives attended the function. Shri Barve was also enjoying the programme as no one had done it before. He said ' Many people have come to entertain these people but this programme has given real solace through the devotional songs.

When Bhau Kalchuri, the Chairman, AMBPPCT, Ahmednagar was informed by Mr. Kishore Mistry, the member and secretary of the Centre about the function he sent him the following message which was read out before the people gathered.

" The Name of Beloved Avatar Meher Baba is so powerful that it gives strength to bare all physical suffering and I am saying this because I was also cancer patient and passed through two major surgeries, 52 radiation treatments and chemotheraphy for one year. Still I was happy and cheerful throuout because His name gave me inner strength to pass through all this physical suffering. I can therefore say that you are really patients. Take the treatment for your physical suffering but remember the name of Beloved Avatar Meher Baba wholeheartedly, sincerely and honestly with all faith so that you may get inner strength which will make you free from the worries and keep you closer to God,"

The programme concluded with the recitation of prayers and arti and distribution of prasad. The Centre later on arranged to distribute the Prayer an Arti books to them.
