| THE TWO KINGS, ALL PERVADING AND ALL-KNOWING | ||

|
This story deals with how Creation began and was told by Baba Himself. Before Creation took place, there was nothing. No form. No space. Absolutely nothing. But there were two kings. One was the All-Pervading King, and the other was the All-Knowing King. There was also one queen, and the name of that queen was Vaikunth. In Eternity, only these three existed. Otherwise, there was absolutely nothing, nothing but the Rule of Indivisibility. There was Oneness; there was no duality. The All-Pervading King would sleep for 12 months, while the All-Knowing King would stay awake for 12 months. After this, the All-Pervading King would stay awake for 12 months, while the All-Knowing King would sleep for 12 months. For seven hours when the All-Pervading King was awake, Queen Vaikunth would be with him. And when the All-Knowing King was awake, the queen would be with him for seven hours. In this way, ages and ages passed. But Queen Vaikunth had no child. One day, she went to the All-Knowing King. She started weeping. "You are all-knowing, and you know everything. Why do you not know how I am suffering without a child? Is my helpless condition hidden from you? Why don't you give me a child?" Hearing this, the All-Knowing King replied, "My dear Queen, this is not my work. But I can suggest one thing to you: when the All-Pervading King is sleeping, go to him. Don't come to me. Sleep with him and try to wake him up. One day, when he wakes up, he will be very, very angry. But don't feel scared. Try to console him. Sing and dance before him and attract him. That is very important. When he becomes free from anger, he will want to drink from the cup of your love. At that time, you will have him in your arms. He will become thirsty for your love, and he will feel very, very happy to kiss you. Just be with him, and play your game of love with him, so that he wants to sleep with you. You will then have children from him. "But do not come to me. Remain with him and serve him. You will have seven children, one child every 700,000 years. The first will be Brahmand (Universe), and the second will be World. The third, Shadow, then Form, Maya, Kailash and Mukti (Liberation). After the seventh child is born, leave the All-Pervading King and come to me. I will then absorb you into me." Thus, in the beginning, Vishnupad (the state of Vishnu) gave birth to Vaikunth in the form of a girl. And afterwards, Vishnupad gave birth to a son, also named Vaikunth. |

The explanation of this story is as follows: Infinite Unconsciousness is represented by the All-Pervading King and Infinite Consciousness by the All-Knowing King. Queen Vaikunth represents Original Maya. The original state of Maya is a mixture of subtle and mental worlds. Everything is there in the state of Beyond-Beyond God. In that state, there is neither unconsciousness nor consciousness. When the Whim arose in the state of the Beyond-Beyond God, the mental and subtle worlds separated from each other. As they were separating, there was an explosion, the Big Bang. Then four elements came out: Fire, Wind, Water and Earth. You will find that in the evolution of consciousness, stone and vegetable are both closely connected to the Earth; fish are connected to Water; birds to Wind and human beings with all these four elements. Pran (the Subtle World) has seven parts, and the Mental World also has seven parts. The seven parts of the Subtle World are in the head of a human being: two eyes, two ears, two nostrils and one mouth. And the seven parts of the Mental World in a human being are as follows: The first part is from the chest to the waist, then two hands, two legs, and finally, two openings -- one for urination and the other for defecation. In the original state of Beyond-Beyond God, the All-Pervading King and the All-Knowing King were both together, not separate. In that state, there was neither consciousness nor unconsciousness, yet everything was there in that original state. The kings' 12 months of sleep and 12 months being awake signifies that they were neither sleeping nor awake, because in that original state, there was no activity, no action. When the Ocean (God) got the first Whim, Infinite Unconsciousness and Infinite Consciousness came out together. This means, God's Infinite Consciousness and God's Infinite Unconsciousness formed two separate states. The state of Infinite Unconsciousness is the state of Ishwar (called here the All-Pervading King). And Infinite Consciousness formed another state (called the All-Knowing King). Queen Vaikunth's being with the two kings for seven hours depicts that Original Maya was with the seven parts of the Beyond-Beyond God, that is, Infinite Unconsciousness, and also with Infinite Consciousness. The desire of Queen Vaikunth depicts the giving of birth to Creation. The All-Knowing King (Infinite Consciousness) had no connection with Queen Vaikunth (Original Maya), but the All-Pervading King (Infinite Unconsciousness, Ishwar) has a connection with Maya. Therefore, in the Original State, the All-Knowing King sends Queen Vaikunth to the All-Pervading King. To disturb the All-Pervading King in his sleep and awaken him illustrates the coming of the first Whim. Because of the movement of this Whim, the Subtle and Mental Worlds separated, and an explosion took place. From this explosion, fire came out, and this represents the anger of the All-Pervading King. Queen Vaikunth remains with the All-Pervading King all the time, because the All-Knowing King has nothing to do with Maya. In this way, Queen Vaikunth gives birth to seven children. This depicts Creation. The state of Vishnu is also the state of the All-Pervading King and Original Maya (Formless). Original Maya's adoption of Form is depicted by the birth of Vishnu's daughter, which is called the beginning of Maya, that is, Creation. Now we find that when Queen Vaikunth was with the All-Pervading King, she had seven children: Brahmand (Universe), World, Shadow, Form, Maya, Kailash and Mukti (Liberation). Brahmand means the Universe and the world and depicts the Gross World. Kailash depicts the inner world. Queen Vaikunth is with everyone, and when any jeevatma [soul plus mind and energy] gets liberation, they become the last child of Queen Vaikunth. That means that Queen Vaikunth becomes the All-Knowing King, as she is absorbed into the state of Infinite Consciousness. She then takes the form of the son and becomes Vishnu. This is depicted by giving birth to a son. A person who has become One with God considers themselves a son. That is why when anyone called Babajan "Mother," she always objected, saying, "I am not Mother. I am Father." Dictated Saturday, 25th January, 2003 |
