Yesterday evening [Wednesday, 16th May, 2001] , I went to Beloved Baba’s Tomb in order to offer the loving messages from His dear ones, and I did so.

When I returned to Sheela’s, dear Heather came to me to read out certain things in connection with the Trust. Something had happened, and I had received a really abusive letter. The Meherazad Mandali felt very much hurt on my behalf, as that letter was directed towards me and also other Trustees. I had already replied to that letter, but the Meherazad Mandali thought it better to give a proper reply to it.

The reply was written, and Heather brought it to me. She read out the reply, and we talked.

"I felt disturbed because of that letter. I spent a restless night," I told her. "But the next day, when I thought over this, I sent a short, loving reply to the party concerned. I felt as if I had been relieved from a burden. I felt very, very happy thinking that how this party has helped me, so that I became free from such a burden connected with the Trust."

Later on, I took dinner very late and then went to bed at 11:00 p.m.

I reflected on how much the Meherazad Mandali loves me, and how we are united in His love. No one can understand this, because this unity is internal. This unity can never be broken under any circumstance. I closed my eyes, and tears came out of them from the bondage of love. Again, I felt very, very light, as if the burden was lifted. And then I slept.

After some time, I woke up to go to the bathroom. After coming back from, I was lying down.

And the voice came. It was the silent voice of the Beloved. I felt that the voice was speaking, and the Infinite One is behind the voice. The voice said, "What is this Creation, and what are you? The whole creation is nothing but a dream. Your life is a dream in this big dream of Creation. You also see a dream at night. But that is a dream into a dream into a dream into a dream. And you don’t know. So long as you dream at night, you take it as real. But when you wake up, you find that it was a dream.

"Your life is also a dream. So long as you are alive, you go on seeing different dreams while working and doing different things. You maintain your family, you work for your family. You do different things, but you know not that you are dreaming.

"When you die, you forget the dream of your past life. Your start seeing a new dream. You remain as a baby. You grow up. You go to school. You take a job or do any business. Get married. Maintain another family. And one day, when you die, this new dream you forget. Still again, yet another dream starts. But there is continuity of the dream in Creation. Nobody knows. The dream does not stop. Whatever you do in this life, while seeing the dream, you collect impressions. When you die, the impressions remain. After passing through hell or heaven according to your impressions, again you take birth. You start a new dream, which is in the continuity of the past dream, but you don’t know.

"Life is a big chain of dreams and it has innumerable links. When one dies, one link is broken. But this life dream begins from the gas state, then stone, vegetable, worm, fish, bird, animal, and lastly human beings. There is a continuity of life, and death does not end illusory life. The real life is One. It is Eternal and Indivisible, and it is in everyone. But because of this illusory life with everyone, one does not experience the One Indivisible Eternal Life.

"God is real, and only God exists, and nothing exists besides God. The dream, or illusion, plays its role and therefore, one God appears as innumerable. The Ocean is One, but the drops are innumerable. Each drop is not a drop, but the Ocean.

"So what is the aim of life and what is the goal of life? The aim of life is to love God, and the goal of life is to become one with God. For this purpose, the dream of Creation is created. Everyone sees this dream and becomes limited, though in a true sense everyone is not everyone, but One.

"Therefore, what is the solution? The solution is to love God. Try to remain detached from the dream. Do not remain attached to the dream, because a dream is after all a dream. It has no substance. Births and deaths are nothing but the dream. In truth, no one takes birth and no one dies. It is an illusory phenomenon. It is the dream.

"Why did you get upset when you received that letter? Why were you restless the whole night? You forgot that it was a dream. If you remember this truth all the time, you will never be affected by anything in the world. I know my Mandali members were not affected by this dream as you were affected, though it was for the time being. They just wanted to bring the truth home of those who were dreaming. So when you believe in Reality, and long to experience Reality, remember that you should not be affected by anything in the dream. At the same time, you should be strong enough to bring the truth home of those who are under the clutch of the dream, and, because of their attachment, give importance to the dream.

"I am now happy to see you that you are happy because you feel the truth. Now you think they have done a great favor to you. So now you are feeling relieved from the sadness which you had when you read that letter. But know well, you should remain all the time unaffected. Then you have the right to teach the lesson to those who want to teach YOU the lesson while dreaming.

"Is it clear to you?"

I bowed down to the Beloved and realized what a lesson it is for me that I should forget everything in the dream and remember Reality.
